Our Experiences
Every tour is led by a local guide and accompanied by a photographer. No scripts. No tourist traps. Just the real city, lived from the inside.
3 – 4 Hours
Cape Town's streets are living archives. Bo-Kaap's painted walls, the Malay Quarter's spice-scented alleys, District Six's haunted open lots — your guide doesn't just point at things, they tell you what they mean to the people who grew up here. A photographer walks with you throughout, capturing the moments that most tourists miss entirely.
What's IncludedEvery tour begins at Vansterdam Studios with a cup of our masala chai — brewed in-house from whole spices we blend and mix ourselves. It's the moment that sets the tone before you step outside.
4 – 5 Hours
You start at a local market and a neighbourhood butchery — not a supermarket, not a tourist destination. You shop the way Capetonians actually shop. Then you cook. The meal is traditional Cape Malay cuisine made from scratch alongside your guide, who grew up eating it. The photographer is with you the entire time, from the market stalls to the communal table.
What's IncludedWe start every tour with our in-house masala chai — whole spices, blended and brewed at the studio. For the cooking experience, the chai becomes part of the story: your guide will tell you exactly what goes into it and why those spices matter in Cape Town's food history.
4 – 5 Hours
South Africa has one of the oldest and most complex relationships with cannabis in the world — and most visitors have never heard the real story. This tour weaves that history into the streets of Cape Town itself, led by a guide with genuine educational depth. It ends at a vetted partner venue for a curated tasting with artisan pairings. Every mini is included in the price.
What's IncludedThe experience opens at Vansterdam Studios with our in-house masala chai — brewed from whole spices we blend ourselves. Warm, complex, and a fitting introduction to a tour built entirely around flavour, culture, and curiosity.
